Breathe and Forgive

I have a hard time letting go of anger and hurt when I find out that others, who I trusted, have said or done things against me or my family.   I think it’s because I don’t bond with many people, so when something negative happens I feel it deeply.

The problem is, I’m only hurting myself by holding onto these negative feelings.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s okay to go through those feelings.  In fact, you need to process them to move on.   However, don’t dwell on them.   Focus on what’s important, focus on the people and circumstances that are positive influences.

No one said living life as a believer would be easy.   It may be one of the most difficult things ever.  But- think of who is watching you, think of who might be brought to Christ through your example.

Like my grandma used to say- Let Go and Let God.

Make a positive impact today.

Be a blessing.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

You have a gift that was bestowed upon you even before you were placed on this earth.   The problem arises when we are taught to ignore those inherent feelings and listen to what society tells us is the appropriate path for our lives.

God has a reason for you to be here.

No one is greater, more special, or more deserving.

We all have a plan.

We all matter in the eyes of Father God.

Close your eyes and imagine yourself being happy.  What comes to mind when you think about this?

What comes to mind when you think about this?

Pity Parties

Ever have a day, week, month, LIFE that left you wondering why God even bothered to put you into this world?

It’s as if some of us were just born to be in bad situations.   It’s so easy to be down and see the hurtful, negative, and unfair situations that surround you.

Someone tells you that you have a purpose and you become even more resentful because words aren’t changing your situation.

Reality check: the only person that can change your situation is YOU.

Stop relying on PEOPLE to change your life.  The reality is that 99% of people won’t work on helping you unless it benefits them in some way.  That’s just human nature.

Today, no matter how small the steps have to be, do one thing to improve your situation.

I don’t know your needs, dreams, or future plans.   I do know that you aren’t accomplishing anything by sitting around in a pool of pity all day.

Get up.   Take a shower.   Refresh your mind.  Spend time praying and asking God to open your eyes to His message for you.

If you truly want to improve your life, take the steps to get there.  You might be uncomfortable for some time, but at least you won’t be stagnant.

James 1:2-4 ESV

“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”

Every Year

And so it goes…  end of December, look over the past year and see how much gloom and dread you endured.  Look at the calendar for the upcoming year and proclaim that this will be the best one ever!

Let’s try something new…Let’s GIVE UP

Give up your hurt, anger, CONTROL

Give it all up…  and let’s live the cliche’ that most people say to you when you are down and out-   Sweetheart, you just gotta give it to GOD.

As crazy as it sounds and feels, that’s exactly what you need to do.

Were you able to become a stronger wife, mom, daughter, or friend by being in total control?  Was your faith strengthened, relationships healed, forgiveness finally granted by only allowing God in when it suited you?

Yes, I’d so love to finally have a year where things aren’t a constant struggle, anxiety isn’t taking over my sleep, pain isn’t resonating through my body 24/7, but the fact is that I am NOT in control.  I gave that up a few weeks ago and it’s been a whirlwind ever since!

Now, all I have is up to HIM, and all I can do is hold on tight as God breaks me, molds me, and uses me to help others.  Right now, we are entering into the most unsure times we have ever experienced, but it has caused us to become stronger because we know that WE are in control.  We have GIVEN UP everything to our Father.

I’ll state the scripture again, and see if you read it differently now–  Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Are you ready to give up with me?
