Every Year
And so it goes… end of December, look over the past year and see how much gloom and dread you endured. Look at the calendar for the upcoming year and proclaim that this will be the best one ever!
Let’s try something new…Let’s GIVE UP
Give up your hurt, anger, CONTROL
Give it all up… and let’s live the cliche’ that most people say to you when you are down and out- Sweetheart, you just gotta give it to GOD.
As crazy as it sounds and feels, that’s exactly what you need to do.
Were you able to become a stronger wife, mom, daughter, or friend by being in total control? Was your faith strengthened, relationships healed, forgiveness finally granted by only allowing God in when it suited you?
Yes, I’d so love to finally have a year where things aren’t a constant struggle, anxiety isn’t taking over my sleep, pain isn’t resonating through my body 24/7, but the fact is that I am NOT in control. I gave that up a few weeks ago and it’s been a whirlwind ever since!
Now, all I have is up to HIM, and all I can do is hold on tight as God breaks me, molds me, and uses me to help others. Right now, we are entering into the most unsure times we have ever experienced, but it has caused us to become stronger because we know that WE are in control. We have GIVEN UP everything to our Father.
I’ll state the scripture again, and see if you read it differently now– Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
