Are You Working for Man?

Are You Working for Man?

“A person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people.” Romans 2:29

A few months ago, I was chastised for asking my team if they had prayer requests.  Prior to that, I heard about how ridiculous it was for other people to bring up their faith and God when it came to business matters, and that I would lose business if my faith offended someone.

Being fairly new to the business world, I did my best to keep things separate, but it was always in the back of my mind how wrong it felt to not give praise to God for any successes.  During my years of teaching, being a person of faith was always encouraged, so I had no idea it was going to be different in a business setting.

Now that I’ve stood up for my beliefs, this verse really hits home.  You see, I was looking for man to praise me, instead of making sure that I was giving glory to God.

If you lose business because of your beliefs, do not fret, because in time people will see that you are a person who does not compromise, and that is far more valuable then one who flip flops with every person who walks through the door.

Stand firm – you are not in this alone.

You Are Gifted

1 Corinthians 12:4-7 ESV

4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.

Do you realize that you were made for, and with, a purpose?

Think about that one…   YOU have a PURPOSE

One God… Many People… Many Gifts

How are you using your gifts to help others?  How do you know what your gifts are?

Think about it…  are there things that come naturally to you?  Things that you enjoy? Things that motivate you and drive you to do better?

You are not made to drudge through a miserable existence.  You have God-given gifts that were created to make life better and praise the One who created us.

Imagine using those gifts as the foundation for your business.  Do you think you would struggle as much if you were living each day using the gifts given?  If you are fulfilling your true purpose, defining your life the way it was meant to be, and not being ashamed of anything done in HIS name, you would be so fulfilled and ready to encourage others.

Make a list of what you truly enjoy, then think of how you can create a life around that list.  Do what you love, and you’ll never “work” a day of your life again.

Be blessed and Be a blessing

Never Forget

Deuteronomy 8:17-18 NIV 17 You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” 18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

How many times do we struggle and cry out to God to help us, only to forget about Him once things in life start becoming positive?  I can say that I am so guilty of this.  I become intwined among the daily activities and prosperous moments that I don’t take time to thank the one that got me there.

I’ve been disciplined so many times by my Father God.  The blessed times were amazing- with the ability to provide for my family, enjoy fine things, buy whatever I wanted, whenever I felt like it.  It was so easy to become caught up in material desires, and it was so difficult to be satisfied with what I had, and not long for the “better things” that those around me were obtaining.

Once again, I am at a point in my life where everything has been lost.  I’m battling chronic illnesses, attempting to find the energy to complete simple tasks, and watching as my husband and children struggle each day with basic needs.

I don’t believe that God wants us to hurt like this.  I believe He is a parent that longs for his children to succeed and prosper.  However, like children, we take for granted what is provided to us and forget to keep a thankful heart.

Wherever you are at in life right now, stop for a moment.  Close your eyes.   Breathe in the fresh air and start thanking your Father for surrounding you with air, clothing, shelter, food, and other people who care for you.

Look at the simple things and thank Him.

Look at the major blessings in your life and thank Him.

Look at your struggles, and thank Him because they make us stronger.
Thank Him
